Bringing it back again to you guys. I’ve been giving a lot of presentations lately and one common thing that I see is that we all want to get a lot out of life, but the fact of the matter is that not all of us will get there, sorry to break it to ya, but hey, maybe I can help. What I have learned is that to get to where you want to go you have to understand a couple things…First your not going to be able to be the person you are now. For things to change, you have to change…It’s that simple. Second, your going to have to get to work and just do it. Do the things you don’t want to do, get up even when you don’t want to, just do things that are uncomfortable, but you have to do. I heard a quote from a very successful individual named Anthony Powell and he stated the following, “You can either pay the price of discipline early in your life, or pay the price of regret later on.” It’s your choice.
Stated clearly, don’t get to the end of your life and look back with any regrets. We have all seen the 65+ year old greeter at Walmart and at least for me, I always think to myself, “What did that person do, or better yet, what decisions did he/she make to get into that position.” To be honest with you, the difference is slight, but the results are completely different than one who has witnessed much success in their life.
You know guys, I hate to break it to ya, but if you keep doing what your doing you will always get the same results…period. To think otherwise is insane. I feel that we all will have challenges in our life and those challenges will get harder and harder until you learn from them. So make it easy on yourself and learn from those challenges you face. Also, do whatever it is you can to help others. I’m a big believer in giving back to others and as Zig Ziglar states, “If you help enough people get what they want, you will get everything you want.”
So take this anyway you want, but the simplicity of life is to “just do it.” Nike definitely said it best. Be disciplined, have fun and more importantly, never, never give up. Everything is right in front of you!
